Western Digital (WD) today introduced 500 GB My Passport Essential Limited Edition Designs portable hard drives. The HDD is exclusively available on Best Buy and the WD Stores. The HDD is designed by students at California State University, Long Beach’s Industrial Design program and it is now available in Boom Box, Black Hole, Cityscape, Fuchsia Leaf and Wave styles.
My Passport Essential Limited Edition Designs HDD is fully compatible with Windows operating system and it comes with WD SmartWare software, which provides a simple, visual method for backup using a single-screen view of the
drive’s contents.

That’s why we teamed up with California State University, Long Beach design students, who have their finger on the latest fashion trends.”
The My Passport Essential Limited Edition Designs portable hard drive also feature user-selected password protection combined with 256-bit hardware-based encryption for better data security.
