Nokia officially introduced its latest smatphone in its family of N series mobile phones, Nokia N8.It is the first phone by Nokia powered by the world’s most used smartphone operating system, Symbian^3.The new version of Symbain operating system has support for gestures such as multi touch, flick scrolling and pinch-zoom. The Nokia N8 also offers multiple, personalized home screens which can be loaded with apps and widgets.
nokia N8 has 3.5 inches AMOLED capacitive touch screen with 16 million colors and has Scratch-resistant surface. phone has a 12 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, Xenon flash and a large sensor with Geo-tagging, face and smile detection feature, for video calling, it has VGA video call camera.12 megapixel camera can capture HD-quality videos and user can edit them in phone by using built-in editing suite.
With Symbian^3 operating system, N8 is powered by ARM 11 680 MHz processor with 256MB RAM and 3D Graphics HW accelerator which deliver a faster and more responsive user interface. Like other Nokia smartphones, this phone has 512 MB ROM and 16 GB storage as well as up to 32GB expandable memory via microSD card slot.
Web TV services allow users to watch various international channels on N8,additional local Web TV content is also available from the Ovi Store.Phone has TV-out via HDMI and composite cable jack by which user can watch mobile videos and pictures on TV set.
Social networking is currently a hot trend around the world, with Nokia N8; user can update his status, share location and photos, and view live feeds from Facebook and Twitter in a single app directly on the home screen. Calendar events from social networks can also be transferred to the device calendar.
Free global Ovi Maps walk and drive navigation with A-GPS support, 3.5 mm audio jack, Class 32 GPRS and EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with UPnP technology, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP, Stereo FM radio with RDS and FM transmitter, anodized aluminum casing, digital compass, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF viewer, Flash Lite v4.0 are some other features of Nokia N8 smartphone. Phone will be available in Dark Grey, Silver White, Green, Blue and Orange colors.
Nokia N8 will be available in third quarter of 2010 at an estimated retail price of EUR 370, in India phone will be expected to be available in November at an approx retail price between Rs. 23,000 to Rs. 25,000.
