MSI today announce energy-saving, low-noise, entertainment-oriented models in MSI’s Wind Box mini-PC series: the Wind Box DE220 and Wind Box DC220.Both mini-PCs use the latest Intel Pine Trail platform, which provides energy consumption around 90 percent lower than that of a conventional desktop PC and can be attached to the back of any LCD monitor or LCD TV.
The Wind Box DE220 features with ATI Radeon HD 4300 graphics processor and HDMI output for high-definition video content viewing and 3D gaming. Wind Box DE220 and the DC220 conform to the new EuP (Energy using Products) environmental directive that is being introduced by the European Union in 2010.
Wind Box DE220 and the DC220 both uses the Intel Pine Trail platform with Intel Atom D510 dual-core or D410 single-core CPU. Both the processors are power saving processors and consumes 50 percent less power than he first-generation AtomTM CPUs .As per MSI, ‘Extensive testing has shown that the energy consumption of the Wind Box DE220 and DC220 is actually lower than that of most energy-saving light-bulbs, and about the same as a fluorescent bulb.’ MSI’s unique noise reduction technology reduces overall system noise to under 24dB by positioning system components and direction of air-flow.
The DE220 and DC220 provide annual savings in electricity consumption of around 2,365 kWh (equivalent to reducing annual carbon dioxide emissions by 1.8 tons).Wind Box secured Energy Star certification in the U.S and also conform to the requirements of the new European Union EuP (Energy using Product) environmental directive 2010.
