Seems like HTC is very much interested to attract mid segment mobile phone customers around India. After huge success of Samsung Star, Corby and LG Cookie series phones around the country, High Tech Computers (HTC) is also planning to launch its mid range phone powered by Brew Mobile platform HTC Smart phone in Indian market.
Instead of running on Google Android and Windows Mobile platforms, HTC Smart powered by Brew Mobile platform. BREW (Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless) is an application development platform created by QUALCOMM, originally for CDMA mobile phones, but now GSM is also supported.
HTC Smart features with 300 MHz processor and has 2.8-inch TFT-LCD touch-sensitive screen with QVGA resolution. With 256 MB of AM phone has 256 MB ROM and microSD memory card slot which is SD 2.0 compatible.3.0 megapixel color camera with fixed focus and flashlight, 3.5 mm stereo audio jack, Bluetooth with EDR and A2DP are some other features of HTC Smart.
Phone has 1100 mAh Lithium-ion polymer battery and has up to 240 minutes talk time and up to 120 hours standby on GSM network. Lack of Wi-Fi connectivity is somehow disappointing. HTC Smart will be expected to launch by the end of this month at a expected retail price tag of Rs. 10,000.
