Google is very serious about pollution caused by minor things. Often we neglects those things but if we seriously take some little actions and made some changes in our lifestyle, then we can proudly answer to our next generations what we did to save our mother earth.
Google, not just an IT company and search engine giant, company is working hard to save mother earth in their way. Here you think that, it is possible to Google because they are giant and has billions of dollars for doing those experiments, you are totally wrong! The different ways they adopt to reduce pollution are just incredible, even we can easily adopt those personally or on an organization level.
Shuttle service: Google has its own shuttle service to carry many employees at one time. This service work on Bay Area to the Googolplex every day. Incredible thing is that, these shuttles are run on B20 bio-diesel.
Points to employee: Employees of Google who prefer cycles (bikes), walking or hopping way, Google add points to their accounts and these pints are converted into money and this money is donated by Google to their charity of choice.
Use of solar panels: On the rooftop of Google headquarters, Google installed 9,212 photovoltaic solar panels which produce 1.6 MV of electricity which is enough for 1,000 homes.
Google has goat farm too: This is unbelievable but it’s true. Instead of lawn mowers Google appointed 200 goats to graze the fields surrounding of campus.
Rechargeable cars: Google has 8 plug-in vehicles for Google employees. Also they can share bicycles for short trips within the campus. Main aim is to reduce the pollution caused by cars in work days.
Use of organic component in cafe: Waste from Google’s Mountain View cafes are separated and organic component is composted. By this way Google reduce the waste and also it is helpful in reducing greenhouse gases and composted components increased quality of soil without use of any chemicals.
