On January 2009, company unveiled the PocketSurfer2, the world’s fastest handheld Internet device in India and now Datawind comes with affordable netbook, UbiSurfer in India at just Rs. 7,999.

UbiSurfer Netboo 7 inch TFT – Wide screen display with 800 x 480 pixels (WVGA) resolutions. With 128MB Ram and 1GB Flash memory, it has 50 GB online storage facility. For data network access, it has Embedded Cellular Modem, Wireless LAN WiFi IEEE 802.11 b/g and 10BaseT Ethernet Interface. With Standard 80 Key keyboard, it has Dual Button Touch Mouse Pad. Other features includes, Built-in speakers, 3.5 mm Earphone Jack, Push-Push SD card socket, USB Port, Earphone and Ethernet jacks.

Datawind UbiSurfer comes with Linux and Win CE operating system and it is pre-loaded with Datawind Web Browser, Calendar, Media Player, Word Processor, Spreadsheet, Presentation, PDF Viewer, Email, Paint and Games. UbiSurfer Netbook weights just 700 rams and has a lithium polymer battery with approximate Working Time of 3 hours

Datawind UbiSurfer already launched in some other regions in the world and company offering free 30 hours of usage per month free for the first year. Datawind not yet confirm about it in India. But according to sources, the company will definitely provide free data (internet) uses in India too.

UbiSurfer Netbook is expected to launch in 2nd or 3rd week of May at estimated retail price tag of Rs. 7,000.
