It is the first all-in-one home network router with 802.11n Wi-Fi connectivity and network attached storage (NAS).D-Link DIR-685 has awarded with ‘Good Design Award’ (G-Mark Award) in the “Network/Home Computers and Peripherals” category and world’s leading & prestigious design award ‘red dot design award.’
With Network Attached Storage (NAS) feature, it allows users to share USB device, user it as a digital photo frame, Internet content player and FTP server and supports UPnP server functions and BitTorrent downloads.DIR-685 store up to 1TB data on a 2.5-inch SATA drive which can be easily mount on device.3.2-inch LCD screen that displays device status via graphical gauges, and serves as a digital photo frame by showing digital photos, streamed video, weather forecasts and other live streaming Internet content in up to 1.6 million colors.A built-in Universal Plug and Play (UPnP®) AV server allows you to easily stream video files stored on your network through a compatible media player onto your television.
D-Link’s unique SharePort technology allows users to share USB devices in the networks, such as multi-function printers (MFP), scanners, and external hard drives. D-Link Green technology is an energy saving feature. It automatically detects port activity and cable length and adjusts power uses accordingly. Also DIR-685 automatically turns off power to the LCD screen when not in use. With Wi-Fi Scheduler, user can turn off the router’s Wi-Fi module at a pre-set time. Company also uses Energy Star specifications power adaptor. With these power consumption features, it saves up to 30 percent energy.
D-Link DIR-685 will be available in India at a retail price tag of Rs. 15000 with 1 year warranty.
