Bharti Airtel, one of the leading telecom service provider in India announced “Traffic Police Enforcement Automation” in Bangalore. Now with BlackBerry smartphones Bangalore Traffic Police can access all the information about vehicle registration information, allows the officer to issue challans on the spot with the click of a button with a BlackBerry smart phone and Bluetooth printer.
650 Traffic Police officers of Bangalore are now equipped with BlackBerry smartphones. Mr. Shankar Bidari IPS, Commissioner of Police Bangalore City presented the last lot of 10 BlackBerry smartphones to the Bangalore Traffic Police personnel. The initiative brings together all aspects of operational traffic policing in one unified system and is capable of pulling out data on more than two million cases in less than two minutes. With this deployment, it the largest deployment of Blackberry smart phones for a police department in India.
Mr. Praveen Sood- Additional CP Bangalore Traffic Police said “The BlackBerry solution from Airtel is a powerful tool, which not only enhances the visibility of a robust and a streamlined Traffic Enforcement System but also gives us an effective way to control traffic offences.”
