After DR-750 e-reader, Asus is all set to launch another e-reader DR-950 soon. This new e-reader is much more improved then the previous one also has more functions. Already Amazon Kindle and other e-readers making popularity and Asus is also in the race of e-readers by announcing DR-950.
DR-950 has Sipix 9-inch touch screen display with resolution of 1024×768 pixel and it will be available in Black and white color tones. For connectivity it supports Wi-Fi, HSDPA or WiMAX (optional) networks. Its text-to-speech web browser is based on Svox engine which supports 26 major languages and this web browser works in landscape as well as portrait mode, user can input text by virtual keyboard and handwriting methods. Company will offer 2GB and 4GB internal storage versions of DR-950 and additionally user can expand memory with expandable SD card slot.
This e-reader supports PDF, TXT, Audible, MP3, ePub (unprotected), HTML, JPEG, GIF, PNG and BMP file formats. For listening audio files Asus DR-950 features with 3.5-mm headphone jack and stereo speakers for text-to-speech inputs. Dimensions wise it is 222 x 161 x 9 mm and weights 370 gram only.
Asus not yet announce the availability and price tag of DR-950 e-reader.
